Overview
Landsat-8/OLI is a mosaic generated and made available by the Brazil data Cube (BDC) project covering the entire national territory.
The mosaic uses surface reflectance images from the Landsat-8 satellite imaging camera (or sensor) OLI with 30 meters of spatial resolution.
The technologies developed in the Brazil Data Cube project helped in the mosaic generation, especially in the stages of scene selection and composition of the tiles free of clouds and cloud shadows.
The product generation uses the Mediam/Stack (MEDSTK) composition function for two periods: the first starts on July 1st and ends December 2017, the second starts on January 2nd and ends June 2018.
The step of joining the tiles and cutting was done manually, and finally, Geotiff was converted from 16 bits to 8 bits to save space. The final product is an RGB color composite of the respective SWIR1 (B6), NIR (B5) and Red (B4) bands.
Data Access
The Landsat 8 Mosaic – OLI Brazil can be accessed through the Brazil Data Cube portal and also through GIS applications through the OGC WMS service, using the following address:

(Choose layer LC8-MOSAIC-BRAZIL_30_6M_MEDSTK)
In addition to the mosaics and the data cube with a resolution of 30 meters, we offer two other versions of the mosaic with 64 and 250 meters, respectively. These tiles can be downloaded in GeoTIFF format from the following links:
